Williamson Hall, Abernethy

Williamson Hall is Abernethy's village hall. It has a number of regular users as well as being available to hire for parties or events.

Williamson Hall is looking for a new cleaner! It’s a regular Friday clean plus additional ad hoc hours dependant on bookings. These are often at weekends, with cleaning able to be done the start of the following week, (although some weekend slots may be required if we have say, two events booked in). We currently pay above living wage rates. Duties usually include brush and mop of the floors, wipe over of kitchen and bathrooms. If you are interested please message the page for more details. ... Hill Race 2025 Results. Attached are the provisional results for the Annual Hill Race. A huge well done to all who took part. Many folk have thought it would be like doing a parkrun and found it is a lot more of challenge. It was a record number of entries in the Ladies, Gents, Female 9 and Under and Male 9 and under which resulted in a record entry overall. In both the Male and Female 9 and under category the winners have got into the top 5 ever (second fastest ever in both cases). Hopefully this wave of younger kids can carry on into the 12 and 16 and under categories.Perfect weather conditions and the hill in pretty good conditions saw Chris Russell come home first and regain the shield. His time was well down on his previous best and I know many of the local runners were frustrated with their own injuries stopping them giving it a crack this year. Ella McElnea brought home the ladies race having only found out it was on this morning and suggesting she is out of practice which does make me think she could go record breaking on a good day and get onto the top 5 and dominate that in the same way she has done in younger age categories.Andrew Carr defended his M16 title but was fought all the way to the line Danny Craig (coming 3rd and 4th overall). Meanwhile Cerys Ogilvie was a deserved winner in the F16 shieldRose Allen defended the F12 title and was the 7th Lady home overall. Kenzie McKinnie stormed to victory in the M12 shield with a time that placed him 6th overallRowan Hale regained her F9 title with a time that put her as the 6th female home and the second fastest time in this category ever. Lewis Scobie took the M9 shield and also set the second fastest time ever in the category. The Colin Morrison Shield was won by Michael Wilson as the fastest first timer (second overall) Jeff Banks defended the Young Shield as the oldest finisher and completed the race in 32mins and 18Secs. He is keen for challengers!Once again, a huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. Sponsors, runners, supporters, marshals and timekeepers. See you for the 2026 run ... See MoreSee Less
